BungeeBones Is A Web App Enabling A Webmaster Social Network Of Mutual Website Promotion. The BungeeBones script and system was developed by Robert Lefebure of Maitland Florida. The idea was motivated by an exacerbation of the developer at how ridiculously competitve the Internet has become and the almost futility (in some cases) of someone being able to get started. That observation by Robert developed after he had built a website for real estate buyers and sellers to post ads (this was before the present R.E collapse by the way). But before it was launched a simple, routine Google search of the term "Real Estate" hit Robert like a ton of bricks. It brought back 360 MILLION results (gets even more today). Robert realised he was about to play "King of the Hill" with the likes of Century 21, Caldwell Banker, Prudential and 360 million (minus 20) others to try and make it to the top page with those select 20. So the idea for BungeeBones was driven by the same need by Robert that every website owner also has ... how to get your voice heard when there is such a deafening roar out there already? BungeeBones is a result of Robert's search for an answer to that. It is the combination of many already used concepts such as web directories, pay per click, link exchange, reciprocal linking and even a little bit of marketing. The user group's name "BBUGS" is the result of a common naming convention in any tech type user group. For example, there are Macintosh user groups named MUG. A Google search for "slug" and Linux will show there are a host of Linux user groups beginning with "s" making that interesting acronym. Since BungeeBones has 2 "B"s in its name, and is, in a lot of ways, a B2B project (business to business), and it is a User Group then ... well ... the name BBUGs seemed to fit like a glove (especially with a name like "BungeeBones").
